Job summary

Carlex Glass America, LLC Corporate Office & Plant in Nashville, TN is seeking an Engineer to lead the engineering of glass fabrication, manage tooling for each production run, and troubleshoot line operations to improve throughput and product quality.

You will issue and revise drawings and process sheets, pursue Six Sigma and SPC initiatives, verify conformance to customer specs, analyze weekly results, train operators, and support safety, integrity and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical) or equivalent technical degree or automotive glass processing experience.
• Six Sigma certified is preferred.

Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Engineering of assigned area of glass fabrication

REQUIREMENTS

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical) or any equivalent technical degree or applicable years of automotive glass processing experience.
• Six Sigma certified is preferred

Years of Experience

• 3+ years in a Manufacturing Environment preferred
• PLC experience preferred
• Fluent in use of CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)

Other Requirements

• Experience with manufacturing equipment or assembly lines
• Solid understanding of Six Sigma, SPC, 5 Why, Pareto and other tools to improve and sustain production levels
• Proven understanding of tools, quality of product and ability to implement improvements to operations
• Work beyond the traditional 40 hours per week may be required as workload or projects dictate, including weekends and holidays
