Job summary

ThermoSafe in Beecher, IL is seeking a diligent production technician to operate molding equipment and support daily maintenance of molds. You will monitor machines, follow procedures, report issues, and help ensure quality parts while keeping work areas clean and safe.

This 1st shift role requires reading instructions, basic math, and the ability to lift up to 70 pounds; overtime may be required. You will collaborate with supervisors and teammates to maximize output and maintain equipment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, memos and procedures.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
• Ability to follow multi-step instructions and work with varying variables.

Location: Beecher, IL

Compensation: $20.93

Shift: 1st shift - Overtime as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Follow the company procedures and the manufacturer's recommendations for operation of the equipment.
• Monitor the molding machinery, molds and the associated equipment. Immediately report to the supervisors any actual or potential problems.
• Provide day-to-day maintenance on the molds to insure quality molded parts.
• Strive to perform efficiently, work to maximize output from the machinery.
• Maintain all tools and equipment in optimum working condition.
• Keep all jigs, fixtures, and molds clean, waxed and properly adjusted. Report any needed repairs to the supervisor immediately. When a job is completed, thoroughly clean all equipment before warehousing.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area.
• Make recommendations for procedural changes as necessary.
• Continually practice safe operation and handling of all equipment, raw materials and products throughout the entire plant.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to communicate effectively with superiors, peer and subordinate employees.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to use and accurately read a tape measure.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in multiple step instructions by oral, written, or drawn communication. Ability to deal with standardized situations with many potential variables.
