Overview

The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers make a difference in people's lives. Through the collection and resale of gently used goods, we provide financial support to assist men and women with social and spiritual challenges. The in-residence rehabilitation program focuses on basic necessities, providing a clean and healthy environment, good food, work therapy, leisure activities, counseling, and spiritual guidance. Our goal is to develop life skills and foster a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Each team member contributes to recycling goods that help repair broken lives.

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center seeks a Production Assistant (Truck Driver) to complete driving routes for pickups and drop-offs of donations at the warehouse, assigned donation boxes, and donor homes.

Duties

• Ensure the security and safe operation of the vehicle and equipment. Report accidents promptly and complete necessary paperwork.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report issues immediately.
• Keep the truck cab and box clean and free of personal items.
• Plan daily routes and make scheduled calls, including pickups and donation boxes.
• Develop routes, including bagging or carding on both sides and across the street of each pickup.
• Represent The Salvation Army courteously and professionally to customers and donors, following the 'Manual for Production Assistants'.
• Maintain a professional appearance according to dress code.
• Keep accurate records, such as delivery manifests and trip logs.
• Load and unload the truck carefully, securing goods to prevent damage.
• Assist Thrift Store personnel with deliveries and store setup.
• Supervise and instruct the Truck Helper, setting a good example.
• Support the work therapy program by demonstrating professional conduct and work habits.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or administrator.

Qualifications

• Effective communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable DMV record and ability to pass a driving test.
• Ability to lift 100 lbs.
• Ability to read maps and plan routes.
• Proficiency with iPad (GPS, texting, inspection reports).
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Medical card and DOT Physical as required by local regulations.
