Job summary

Newsmax Media, Inc. is seeking a Production Assistant in Washington, DC. The role involves typing, editing, and distributing scripts, preparing schedules and cue sheets, and organizing travel for cast and crew.

You will log video footage and support podcast production, guest bookings, and social media strategy. Requires a Bachelor’s in Communications/Broadcasting/Marketing, strong writing and organizational skills, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications/Broadcasting/Marketing or related field.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to work in a deadline driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook.
  • Strong working knowledge of politics, journalism, and current events.

Responsibilities

  • Attend production meetings.
  • Type, edit, copy, and distribute scripts.
  • Prepare and distribute schedules, rundowns, and cue sheets.
  • Organize travel arrangements for cast, crew, and production staff.
  • Accurately log video footage and catalog metadata.
  • Assist with podcast production, video capture, guest booking and podcast social media strategy and management.
  • Assist cast members and occasionally run personal or production-related errands.
  • Run errands between the production office and other departments as needed.
  • Manage basic accounting tasks, including processing expenses and petty cash.
  • Keep track of timing during live or recorded programs.
  • Set up pre-recorded material for use in the studio or control room.
  • Create schedules, shot lists, logs, and other documentation for post-production.
  • Monitor live feeds and assist with breaking news coverage.
  • Support crews with logistics, equipment coordination, and basic production needs.
  • Team player, who can anticipate needs and handle multiple tasks at once.

Position Requirements:
  • 2+ years’ post college work experience (excluding internships) ideally in a creative function such as TV production, marketing, radio, or social media.
  • Bachelor’s degree: Communications/Broadcasting/Marketing or related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of politics, journalism, and current events
  • Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented with ability to work and thrive in a deadline driven environment.
  • Flexible shifts. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook
  • Technical skillset with non-linear broadcast video editing equipment a plus
