Perform clean up duties as needed to maintain a safe and organized work area throughout the shift. Learn to operate forklifts and overhead cranes.

Position Details

Job Type: Full Time, Onsite

Schedule: Monday - Friday

• Day Shift: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
• Swing Shift: 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm, plus $1.25 shift differential

Wage Range: $18.50 - $21.50 per hour, DOE

Purpose of the Position

This entry level position is a great first step to a career at Farwest. Production Assistants will process orders cut on burning machines and assist in other areas of the warehouse as needed while following all safety policies and procedures. Perform clean up duties as needed to maintain a safe and organized work area throughout the shift. Learn to operate forklifts and overhead cranes.

Major Duties

1. Identify parts associated with a specific order, process parts and clean up per instructions on the work order using grinders and hand tools. Follow the parts processing six-step procedures.
2. Communicate effectively with coworkers and related shifts.
3. Stack parts on pallets or in bundles and mark with pertinent information from the work order for delivery or storage.
4. Remove small cut parts from the burning tables by hand when needed.
5. Identify all quality issues and present them for supervisor review to ensure customer expectations are met on every order.
6. Load and unload vehicles including inbound deliveries and customer will calls, representing the highest standard of a Farwest employee.
7. Sort parts and place in tubs, then transport to the processing area.
8. Operate forklifts at times, and operate jib cranes and overhead cranes as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Reliable, on time, ready to work daily
• Continuous mental and/or visual attention to monitor safety and process details
• Warehouse training or prior experience of at least 12 months preferred; training will be provided
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
• Math ability to determine piece counts and read a tape measure, including converting decimals to fractions and vice versa
