Job summary

Nexstar Media Group is seeking a Production Assistant to support television production for live and recorded broadcasts. The role involves composing camera shots, managing lighting and exposure, and operating studio and remote cameras under director instruction.

You will work with directors and crew to discuss sequences, movements and lighting, set up equipment, and help produce graphics for the newscast. Strong communication and multitasking are essential to succeed in this fast paced

Responsibilities

• Composes and frames camera shots, applying lighting, lenses and camera settings as directed.
• Adjusts camera positions and controls for focus, exposure, and lighting as requested by the director.
• Operates studio cameras during live broadcasts.
• Operates remote cameras during live broadcasts.
• Confers with directors and crew on sequences, effects, movements, and lighting requirements.
• Sets up cameras and related equipment.
• Tests, cleans, maintains and repairs camera equipment.
• Produces graphics for the newscast and creates graphics for the broadcast.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Production Assistant is responsible for various television production duties required to record scenes for live and recorded broadcasts.

• Composes and frames camera shots, applying the technical aspects of light, lenses and camera settings to achieve the effects sought by directors
• Adjusts positions and controls of cameras to change focus, exposure and lighting as requested by the director
• Operates studio cameras during live broadcasts
• Operates remote cameras during live broadcasts
• Confers with directors and other crew members to discuss sequences, desired effects, camera movements and lighting requirements
• Sets up cameras and related equipment
• Tests, cleans, maintains and repairs camera equipment
• Produces graphics for newscast
• Creates graphics for the newscast
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills:
