Job summary

KOAT 7 in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Broadcast Production Assistant to support live broadcasts and post‑production. You will work closely with the production crew and report to the News Production Manager.

You will operate cameras, move props, set up lighting, prepare scripts, and edit promos using Adobe Premiere. A team player with a flexible schedule is essential in the fast-paced broadcast environment.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of television newscast equipment and software.
  • Editing experience is necessary.
  • Videography experience is helpful.

  • Construct, maintain, install, and operate props, cameras, prompters, sets, and other production equipment.
  • Prepare lighting and scripts for newscasts.

  • Understand and maintain the lighting grid and control board.
  • Climb ladders to change light bulbs and adjust fixtures on the grid.
  • Edit syndicated promos for air and web content using Adobe Premiere.
  • Assist directors as needed.

Broadcast Production Assistant

KOAT, the ABC affiliate in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is hiring a Broadcast Production Assistant. The role supports live broadcasts and post‑production, working closely with the production crew and reporting to the News Production Manager.

This position requires a team player who understands the flexible schedule of the broadcast industry.

Responsibilities
