We seek a Production Asset Lead to maintain all production assets on the manufacturing floor, oversee calibrated equipment, plan proof loads, and manage media equipment.

This role bridges engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, IT, and business systems to create safe, documented workflows.

Qualifications

• Highschool GED with practical hands-on technical skills; vocational training preferred.
• 3+ years in manufacturing, assembly and testing production hardware.
• Experience with calibrated tooling (torque wrenches, load cells, etc.).
• Experience with cranes, hoists, overhead lifting equipment, rigging, pallet lifts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead for load testing, create lifting plans and evaluate lifting practices.
• Translate proof load requirements into tested plans and coordinate with engineering to develop specs.
• Ensure requirements traceability and verification through test execution.
• Control and manage calibrated tooling and distribute tools for manufacturing.
• Serve as technical gate keeper of tooling and torque verification activities as needed.
• Manage all media equipment used in production and testing (cameras, recorders, microphones).

With proprietary designs, deep technical expertise, and large-scale production capabilities, the team develops solar array solutions tailored to each customer's size, power, and orbital needs. At the heart of these offerings is Redwire's patented Roll-Out Solar Array (ROSA), an award-winning system that uses composite booms and modular photovoltaic blankets to create compactly stowable, highly efficient solar arrays. These mission-proven power systems have supported successful deployments across LEO, GEO, and deep space missions, including the ISS, NASA's IXPE mission, and NASA's DART mission.

Summary

We are seeking a Production Asset Lead to join the team in Goleta, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining all production assets on the manufacturing floor. You will lead calibrated equipment oversight and administration, structure proof load planning and execution, and all media management. The role requires bridging between engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, IT, and business systems to create safe, documented, and efficient workflows.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead for load testing to ensure safe operation, create lifting plans, and evaluate current lifting practices.
• Translate proof load requirements into documented test plans and coordinate with engineering disciplines to develop standard specifications for load testing.
• Ensure requirements traceability and verification through successful test execution.
• Control and manage calibrated tooling and become a key point of contact for receiving and distribution of tools for manufacturing.
• Serve as a technical gate keeper of tooling and torque verification activities as needed.
• Manage all media equipment used in production and testing environments, including cameras, video recorders, microphones, and related accessories.

Ideal Experience

• Highschool GED and strong foundational technical skills gained through hands‑on experience, with additional preference for candidates who have vocational training, trade school education, or a demonstrated combination of relevant skills and practical experience.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, assembly and testing production hardware.
• Experience with calibrated tooling including, but not limited to, torque wrenches, torque drivers, torque analyzers, load cells, digital readouts, etc.
• Experience using cranes, hoists, overhead lifting equipment, rigging hardware, manual jacks, pallet lifts and load‑bearing structures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

Desired Skills

• Experience with PDM, Costpoint, and TIPQA.
• Familiarity with aerospace standards such as, NASA-STD-8719.9 and NASA-STD-5001, and similar.
• Training or certification with ERP systems, forklifts, scissor lifts, crane operation.

Pay Range

$41.00 - $51.00 per hour

Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
