Job description

Production Assembler and Grinder
Hours: 6am-2:30pm, OT would be working until 3:30pm and occasional Saturdays.

Candidates will be placed into position based on qualifications/experience and business need.

Production Assemblers & Grinders

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Will perform a variety of jobs fitting together manufactured and purchased parts into subassemblies or complete products.
2. Read and understand blueprints and routing to produce parts from them to the required specifications.
3. Transfer cardboard cartons from racking on pallets on the floor.
4. Place labels on cartons.
5. Fold cardboard into cartons and transfer product from off of line, insert product into carton.
6. Insert product and transfer onto pallet either on a palletizer or on a pallet on the floor.
7. Hand tape small cardboard boxes using a manual pistol-grip taper. Insert product into carton, tape the top of the box, and transfer onto pallet.
8. Responsible for the care of routine maintenance and keeping the work area neat and clean.
9. Follow all rules regarding machine operation and machine guarding.
10. Maintain simple reports on productivity, quality, and safety.
11. Assist supervisor and perform other duties as needed and directed.
12. Operates equipment to buff and polish metal surfaces.
13. Stop any machines upon discovery of a problem and make the required adjustments as quickly as possible to minimize downtime.
14. Provide quality control by inspecting workpieces as they come out of the equipment and removing any defective pieces.
15. Operate machinery, including polishing and grinding equipment, to grind any metal workpieces to their prescribed specifications to ensure high-quality products.
16. Finish products by hand using hand tools to ensure the surfaces are filed or finished accordingly.
17. Keep all equipment running by inspecting and performing basic maintenance, including lubrication and cleaning, and scheduling repairs when needed.
18. Perform basic repairs, including replacing parts when they are worn down or broken, within the scope of expected knowledge and expertise.
19. Assist all supervisors and perform other duties as needed and directed.
