Responsibilities

• Support Operations Manager with facility oversight.
• Schedule and supervise warehouse supervisory and hourly staff.
• Monitor processing and quality control standards.
• Assign daily tasks and evaluate subordinates.
• Ensure timely completion of warehouse activities.
• Interview and recruit employees; organize on-the-job training.
• Ensure worker safety per OSHA and EHS programs.
• Oversee inventory records and inbound/outbound materials.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for supervision, safety and performance of tasks involving production and processing operations, including loading, material handling, and processing activities, of larger plants. This position may oversee supervisors and/or line leads and indirectly manage hourly warehouse technicians and machine operators. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.

Job Responsibilities

• Supporting the Operations Manager of a facility with various plant management responsibilities and performing the duties of the Operations Manager when he/she is not present
• Scheduling and supervising the activities and the functions of the warehouse supervisory and hourly staff
• Monitors and ensures processing and quality control standards
• Assigning daily tasks and evaluating the work of the subordinates
• Ensuring the proper and timely completion of all warehouse activities
• Interviewing and recruiting employees and organizing on the job training activities
• Ensuring the safety of all workers in the warehouse as per Occupational Safety and Health Administration norms and in conjunction with corporate EHS programs
• Inspecting and overseeing the inventory records of the warehouse and keeping track of all inbound and outbound materials
• Other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• 5+ years operations experience, metals service center experience is a plus
• 3+ years in a supervisory capacity
• 1+ years related management experience and/or training
• Knowledge of ASTM standards and DOL and OSHA requirementsEquivalent combination of education and experience
• Excellent communication skills

• Experience in the metals processing / distribution industry, is a plus
