Job summary

Vector Talent Solutions is seeking a Production and Loading Technician in Hermiston, Oregon. After training, you will operate all machinery required for producing high quality products, and you will load/unload goods, perform quality checks, and assist in various manufacturing positions as needed.

You must be able to lift 60 lbs, work at heights, read a tape measure, and pass background/drug screening. Forklift and crane skills are preferred, with overtime and outdoor yard work possible.

Qualifications

• Crane and forklift skills are preferred.
• Must be able to work overtime hours as required.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Operate all machinery after training following safety guidelines (e.g., roll formers, trim folder, slitter, shears, forklifts).
• Load and unload products onto flatbed trucks as needed.
• Perform quality checks to ensure accurate, damage-free products.
• After training, operate forklift and yard truck as needed.
• Follow plant safety procedures and use PPE as required.
• Clean the work area at the end of each shift.
• Cross-train and be willing to work at any position in manufacturing as needed.
• Complete other tasks as required by supervisor or management.

Job description

The Production and Loading Technician is responsible for the operations of all machinery required to produce high quality products, following all safety guidelines.

Essential Functions:

• After completing appropriate training, operates all machinery required following safety guidelines: machinery can include but not limited to roll formers, trim folder, slitter, shears, and forklifts as assigned.


• Loading and unloading products onto flatbed trucks as needed.


• Complete quality checks as needed to provide accurate, damage-free products.


• Once training is complete, must have the ability to operate a forklift and yard truck as needed.


• Must follow all plant safety procedures and use all applicable personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.


• Clean the work area at the end of each shift. This includes sweeping the floor, placing boards in the proper storage area, and dumping of trash.


• Cross-train as directed and be willing and able to work at any position in the manufacturing process, on an as-needed basis.


• Complete all other tasks as required or assigned by the immediate supervisor and/or upper management.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

The person in this position must be able to lift 60 pounds or more. They must be able to adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time. This position will require eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate heavy machinery. While in and around the manufacturing facility or on property, company safety requirements must be closely followed.
