Parsons Westminster, Colorado is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to build production-grade AI applications that transform real-world data into actionable information. This role sits at the intersection of applied AI, computer vision, robotics, geospatial systems, and software engineering.

You will work with drone imagery, LiDAR, 3D models, and diverse data sources, delivering scalable Python services, APIs with FastAPI, and robust data pipelines from prototype to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• 2+ years of experience building production-grade software using Python.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: modular design, testing, debugging.
• Experience integrating ML/CV models into real applications.
• Experience with PyTorch or a comparable ML framework.
• Experience building APIs and backend services using FastAPI or similar.
• Experience with SQL databases and structured data.
• Familiarity with AI techniques such as CV foundation models, embeddings, LLMs, or VLMs.
• Proficiency with Git, Linux, and CI/CD workflows.
• Ability to prototype, evaluate, and productionize new approaches.

Responsabilités

• Design and build AI-enabled applications from prototype through production.
• Develop CV and multimodal AI workflows for imagery, drone data, and 3D environments.
• Apply segmentation, feature extraction, self-supervised learning, and foundation models.
• Develop AI workflows for drone-based inspection, mapping, and autonomy.
• Develop scalable Python services and APIs using FastAPI.
• Build data pipelines integrating AI inference, SQL, APIs, and sensor data.
• Optimize and deploy AI models using PyTorch, ONNX, and related tooling.
• Collaborate with engineers and domain experts to turn problems into usable software.
• Contribute to software architecture, testing, deployment, and reliability.
• Evaluate emerging AI techniques for practical value.
