Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and supervise product testing, including procedures and data analysis.
• Interpret test data and communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain testing equipment, ensure calibration, and document procedures.
• Support multiple functions and locations as a technical resource on product performance issues.
• Adhere to ISO quality procedures and promote teamwork across the ORBIS organization.

About The Opportunity

Develop, execute, and supervise product testing, particularly in plastic containers. Analyze test data and provide meaningful interpretation and communication to relevant parties, both internal and external. Be responsible for maintenance of necessary testing equipment and coordinate with Lab Manager to ensure all equipment is properly operating, calibrated, and documented. Be actively engaged in growth culture through mentoring and training programs, both as provider and receiver.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of product testing, including but not limited to developing test procedures, researching new methodology, analyzing data, and generating detail-oriented reports
• Prioritize, interpret, and communicate value adding testing opportunities to the business
• Provide support across multiple functions, business units and locations by operating as a technical resource and problem solver on product performance-related issues
• Maintain up-to-date testing procedures based on industry standards
• Facilitate external testing as necessary through technical collaboration, quotation, and transportation of relevant samples
• Participate in select production trials and customer evaluations to identify testing improvement opportunities
• Adhere to ISO quality procedures and processes
• Promote teamwork and a "One" ORBIS mentality

Education/Certification

• Associate degree and experience in plastic product testing -OR- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical)
• Bachelor’s in engineering / strong mechanical background
• Experience may be considered in lieu of education

Work Experience

• 2 years of applicable technical experience
• Experience with product development in an ISO controlled environment
• Lab based experience involving general lab procedures and testing
• Experience with testing of plastic materials following ASTM/AIAG

Travel Requirements

• 10% travel
• Participation / on-site attendance during production trials
