Job summary

You will mentor staff and participate in growth initiatives within a safety-focused environment. The role requires 2+ years of lab testing experience, familiarity with ASTM/AIAG methods, and a mechanical or plastics background.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or engineering degree with plastics testing experience.
• Minimum 2 years of applicable technical experience.
• Experience in ISO-controlled product development environment.
• Lab testing experience for plastics and ASTM/AIAG standards.
• Ability to operate safely in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of product testing, including developing test procedures, researching new methodology, analyzing data, and generating reports.
• Prioritize, interpret, and communicate value-adding testing opportunities to the business.
• Provide support across functions by acting as a technical resource for product performance issues.
• Maintain up-to-date testing procedures based on industry standards.
• Facilitate external testing through collaboration, quotation, and sample transportation.
• Participate in production trials and customer evaluations to identify testing improvements.
• Adhere to ISO quality procedures and processes.

About The Opportunity

Develop, execute, and supervise product testing, particularly in plastic containers. Analyze test data and provide meaningful interpretation and communication to relevant parties, both internal and external. Be responsible for maintenance of necessary testing equipment and coordinate with Lab Manager to ensure all equipment is properly operating, calibrated, and documented. Be actively engaged in growth culture through mentoring and training programs, both as provider and receiver.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• 1. Perform all aspects of product testing, including but not limited to developing test procedures, researching new methodology, analyzing data, and generating detail-oriented reports
• 2. Prioritize, interpret, and communicate value adding testing opportunities to the business
• 3. Provide support across multiple functions, business units and locations by operating as a technical resource and problem solver on product performance-related issues
• 4. Maintain up-to-date testing procedures based on industry standards
• 5. Facilitate external testing as necessary through technical collaboration, quotation, and transportation of relevant samples
• 6. Participate in select production trials and customer evaluations to identify testing improvement opportunities
• 7. Adhere to ISO quality procedures and processes

Education/Certification

Level Required

Associate degree and experience in plastic product testing -OR- Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical)

Level Desired

Bachelor's in engineering / strong mechanical background

Description Experience may be considered in lieu of education

Work Experience

Required

2 years of applicable technical experience

Desired

Experience with product development in an ISO controlled environment

Lab based experience involving general lab procedures and testing

Experience with testing of plastic materials following ASTM/AIAG
