Job summary

Unverferth Manufacturing Co., Inc. is seeking a field- and inside-sales support professional in Albany, GA. You will provide technical support to customers, dealers, and territory managers, and assist in product trainings and trade shows across the United States and Canada.

The role includes up to 30% travel (15–20 weeks/year) and collaboration with marketing, design engineering, quality assurance, tooling, prototyping, and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

  • Proven written, verbal and telephone communication skills.
  • CDL or willingness to obtain CDL is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture-related field preferred; alternative with experience accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for customers, dealers, and outside sales.
  • Offer telephone support for product service and technical issues.
  • Assist in product enhancements and trade show readiness.
  • Prepare trade show displays, information, and demonstrations.

Job description

Responsible for providing product and program support for inside sales personnel, Territory Managers, branch operations, dealer networks and other related sales entities.This individual will also be required to provide technical documentation, analysis, and assistance for internal support functions such as marketing, advertising, design engineering, quality assurance, tooling, prototyping, and manufacturing.This position requires traveling up to 15-20 weeks per year (30%) performing in field customer and dealer product support, product training programs for outside sales, branch operations and dealer networks, assisting in the preparation, setup, manning and dismantling of product trade show materials throughout the United States and Canada.

Secondary Functions of the Position:

Responsible for supporting daily warehousing and delivery support for the geographic area assigned to this branch operation. These duties include multiple responsibilities and backup support for the branch operation including, but not limited to; data input, periodic order pulling, periodic stocking operations, and/or other project support functions as directed by members of the Unverferth management team.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for product questions generated by customers, dealers, and outside sales.
  • Provide telephone support for product service and technical issues facing territory managers.
  • Provide recommendations for product enhancements to various product lines.
  • Provide Trade Show support for all Unverferth product lines including:
  • Preparation of equipment displays and demonstrations.
  • Prepare trade show product information and technical documentation.
  • Assist with dismantling and cleanup of show area.
  • Perform external product service calls with territory managers as required.
  • Support field prototype units and relay all feedback to engineering team.
  • Review and update knowledge of existing and new product offerings for that area.
  • Involvement in and support of all product improvement programs and product information to external customers, inside sales and Territory Managers.
  • Perform various product training schools / programs for all Unverferth product lines:
  • Internal sales and support personnel.
  • Territory Managers and Branch operation personnel.
  • External customers and dealer network locations.
  • Perform periodic product and market analysis and assessments in support of marketing personnel.
  • Perform periodic assessments of new product market penetration and usage.
  • Perform periodic assessment and analysis of product availability, both internal and external.
  • Provide special project support as required by members of senior management.
Pre- Requisitions:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Ag-Engineering, Ag-Systems Technology, Agri-Business or other related discipline. Candidates with an Associates’ degree 2-3 years of applicable work experience can supplement their skills and experience in lieu of the bachelor’s degree.Prior familiarity and/or hands‑on experience with agricultural equipment and farming operations.
  • Preferably Three to Five (3-5) years technical / product support in a related business market and/or business.
  • Preferably Prior experience and/or familiarity in internal / external product support function.
  • Preferably Prior experience and/or familiarity in dealing with external customers, dealers and/or vendors.
  • Preferably Prior experience and/or familiarity with performing face‑to‑face training programs / presentations.
  • Possess proficient written, verbal and telephone communications skills.
  • Possess proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel & Power Point.
  • Has CDL or willingness to obtain.
