Job summary

Teradyne in North Reading, MA is seeking a Senior Product Support Engineer to provide world-class support for Teradyne Semiconductor Test products. You will lead field issues, collaborate with field teams and design engineering, and drive root-cause analysis to improve system uptime.

The role reports to the Semiconductor Test Product Support Engineering Manager and requires 10+ years in engineering, strong communication, and hands-on mentorship to junior engineers. Travel is less than 20%.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (B.S. in Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechanical, or similar).
• 10+ years of experience.
• Ability to lead a high-priority product from a support standpoint and mentor other engineers.
• Critical thinking and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Detailed understanding of mechanical drawings and/or electrical schematics.
• Self-motivated, team oriented, and hands-on.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to create detailed documentation.

Responsibilities

• Represent PSG as a core team member on both existing and new products.
• Lead field issues and escalations with field teams and engineering (SW and HW).
• Assist with identifying root cause to increase system uptime.
• Participate in new product team meetings and design reviews for serviceability (DFS).
• Lead installation and serviceability discussions during design reviews.
• Support system install requirements and coordinate with install teams.
• Develop a Field Replaceable Unit (FRU) strategy and manage field upgrades.
• Organize, schedule, and project manage field upgrades.
• Manage training for Teradyne field service engineers.
• Monitor system and new product reliability; generate reliability reports.

Opportunity Overview

The Teradyne Product Support Engineering team is looking for a highly-motivated, energetic, technically driven Senior Engineer to provide world class support to the current and future generations of Teradyne Semiconductor Test Products.

This role is enabled by an in-depth knowledge of Teradyne's product offerings coupled with a desire to provide timely solutions across an evolving customer Landscape. The Product Support Engineer role is a dynamic global support opportunity that spans an array of engineering

This individual will report directly to the Semiconductor Test Product Support Engineering Manager .

• Represent PSG as a core team member on both existing and new products
• Work with the field team and engineering (SW and HW) as a lead on field issues and escalations i n both the field and factory
• Assist with identifying root cause to increase system up time

Work as part of the new product integration team by:

• Participating in new product team meetings
• Working with design engineering to design in serviceability (DFS)
• Lead installation and serviceability discussions as part of design reviews

Support system install requirements and work with install coordinator on required tools, resources, etc.

• Develop a Field Replaceable Unit (FRU) strategy
• Organize, schedule and project manage field upgrades
• Manage training for Teradyne field service engineers
• Monitor system and new product reliability
• Generate reliability reports based on field issues
• Travel expectations are less than 20% of work requirements

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is$121,100 to 193,800.This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.

Incentive Plan

This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
