Description

The Product Strategy Analyst II supports the Distribution division by delivering advanced analytics and financial insights that inform pricing, inventory, and program-level decisions. This role independently executes moderately complex analyses, builds scalable reporting solutions, and partners cross-functionally to translate data into actionable business insights. The PSA II is expected to operate with minimal guidance and contribute meaningfully to analytical strategy and execution across Distribution.

This position is based at our Corporate Headquarters in Wood Dale, IL, with a planned relocation to the Merchandise Mart (Chicago) in early 2027.

Responsibilities

• Identify key drivers, interactions, and non-obvious trends within complex datasets.
• Design and execute analytical approaches for open-ended business problems with limited initial context.
• Connect analytical findings to business context, KPIs, and strategic implications for Distribution leadership.
• Build, automate, and maintain dynamic dashboards and reporting systems; implement quality controls to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
• Standardize KPI definitions and metrics across Distribution to ensure alignment and consistency.
• Serve as a technical expert in at least one core Distribution system; execute tasks across additional systems with minimal guidance.
• Develop and maintain scalable data tables; restructure existing datasets while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and governance standards.
• Participate actively in cross-functional projects and meetings, providing problem-solving input and recommended next steps when appropriate.
• Produce and lead knowledge transfer sessions, including documentation and training materials.
• Provide accurate time estimates for assigned workstreams; assist in defining scope, managing small scope changes, and estimating effort-based cost impacts.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently structure and execute analyses
• Demonstrated ability to translate data into business-relevant insights
• Effective written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field required.
• 2–5 years of experience in an analytics, finance, operations, or related role.
• Proficinecy in Excel and experience in BI/analytics tools (e.g., Domo, Power BI, SQL) preferred.
• Experience within aviation, distribution, or supply chain environments preferred.

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000 annually. This range reflects the base salary for candidates who meet the requirements of the role, including experience, education, and location. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for a bonus. AAR offers a competitive benefits package, including medical/dental/vision/life/and AD&D insurance, 401(k) savings plan with employer match, paid time off and holiday pay, as well as opportunities for professional development and growth.
