Smithfield Foods in Wisconsin has an opening for a warehouse associate. The position focuses on inspecting and stacking product, palletizing according to product specifications, and transporting pallets within the plant.

The role requires teamwork, basic math, and computer skills, with opportunities for career growth and a strong benefits package. Competitive hourly pay starts at $23.54 per hour, with a $1.00 per hour second-shift differential.

Responsabilidades

• Inspect and stack product according to product code or load number.
• Virtually inspect pallets and separate unusable ones.
• Palletize and wrap loads using cardboard as needed.
• Transport stock pallets to designated areas and maintain housekeeping.
• Adhere to safe lifting techniques and rotate shifts as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Crew Leader or Supervisor.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities and tasks are written as follows:

• Inspect and stack product according to product code or load number.
• Virtually inspect pallets; using only those in good condition and stacking unusable ones off the side.
• Use cardboard sheets to cover each pallet; palletize according to product specification.
• Wrap, using cardboard corners on necessary loads and transport each stock pallet load to appropriate areas.
• Area housekeeping.
• Follow safe lifting/bending techniques.
• Follow proper job rotation as assigned by Crew Leader and/or Supervisor.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Crew Leader and Supervisor.

• The majority of the time is spent in the plant environment and will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.
• Noise level is loud in the production area and hearing protection is always required.
• Must be able to lift up to 70lbs frequently.
• Must be able to use pallet jack to move things.
• Vision requirement should be at least 20/40 for near and far vision.
