Job summary

Smithfield Foods is hiring for a position in our plant operations. The role involves moving and hanging product, recording inventory movements, and ensuring GMP and food safety policies are followed. • Pull sausage to be washed, wash it and re-hang it in Dry Room.
• Follow GMP and Smithfield Food Safety Policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Transport and hang product from Smokehouse area to dry rooms as required.
• Keep accurate record of number and location of products hung.
• Supply product from dry rooms to packing line, recording number of pieces and sticks removed from section on inventory card.
• Pull sausage to be washed, wash it and re-hang it in Dry Room.
• Proper housekeeping.
• Wash product mold as assigned.
• Follow job rotation as assigned.
• Follow all GMP and Smithfield Food Safety Policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Crew Leader and Supervisor.

• The majority of the time is spent in the plant environment and will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.
• Noise level is loud in the production area and hearing protection is always required.
• Must be able to lift up to 65lbs.
• Vision requirement of at least 20/40 for near and far vision.
• Must be able to clim stairs.

• Bump cap, hair/beardnet, eye protection/goggles, hand protection, hearing protection, safety shoes

MANDATORY TRAINING/COMPETENCY TO BE EARNED:
