Job summary

Chart, Inc. in New Prague, MN is seeking a Product Specialist responsible for design, performance, reliability, and support of their product line.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who is also a nimble learner, able to shift direction and multitask. You will collaborate with customers, sales, engineers and site operations personnel; perform ECO/ECR changes; drive product quality and warranty improvements; support pricing decisions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business management.
• 3–5 years of experience in sales and/or engineering and/or manufacturing.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with design, field operation and maintenance personnel.
• Understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid flow, structures, mechanics of materials.

Responsibilities

• Support sales and marketing efforts to maximize sales / market share of products.
• Serve as a technical subject-matter expert for the product line and primary technical point of contact for Tech Service and the Product Manager.
• Create and process ECO/ECRs and temporary design deviations to communicate changes to product design and customer facing documentation.
• Improve product consistency and reduce variance and warranty claims by identifying and resolving defects across the organization.
• Lead value engineering efforts through engineering and CI teams.
• Develop and present internal and external training.
• Sponsor NPD efforts with engineering team.
• Manage warranty claims.
• Lead product related CAPA efforts as appropriate.
• Assist Product Manager in pricing decisions and contract structures.
• Utilize the S&OP process to ensure business needs will be met.

The Product Specialist is responsible for design, performance, reliability, and support of their product line. Relationships must be cultivated and maintained with customers, salespeople, engineers and site operations personnel.

What Will You Do?

• Support sales and marketing efforts to maximize sales / market share of products

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

• This position will require the ability to move around the production floor and investigate issues with the production equipment.
• Lift up to 15 pounds.
• Sitting, standing, stooping, bending and other related tasks in an office setting.
• Willing and able to travel as required to meet company and project requirements (20-35%).

• 3-5 years of experience in sales and/or engineering and/or manufacturing
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with design, field operation and maintenance personnel as required
• Strong industry knowledge including an understanding of the products, customers, and competitors.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and manage multiple tasks
• Understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid flow, structures, mechanics of materials

Your Education Should Be…

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university majoring in engineering or business management.
