Qualifications

Product Specialist – Automotive Locking Systems

Remote - East Coast | Approximately 50% Travel | Company Vehicle Provided

Are you experienced with automotive locksmithing who enjoys working with people, solving technical problems and teaching others?

We are looking for an Product Specialist to join our team and become a technical resource for customers and Sales. This is a great opportunity for someone who is relatively early in their automotive locksmithing career and has the technical knowledge, personality and organization skills to grow into a highly visible training-focused role.

What You’ll Do

• Lead hands-on technical training and product demonstrations for customers, Sales teams and industry professionals
• Conduct live demonstrations on vehicles, showcasing automotive keys, programming devices, diagnostic tools and related products
• Comfortable leading training sessions and commanding a classroom of up to 20 people
• Provide pre-sale technical and product support to customers and Sales Representatives
• Travel with Sales Representatives to customer visits and provide product expertise in the field
• Support trade shows, industry events and training classes
• Coordinate training logistics, equipment and materials to ensure everything arrives on time
• Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Technical Support and Product Management
• Participate in product testing and validation and provide feedback on product performance
• Conduct regular follow-up with customers and Sales RepresentativesFollow up on existing customer opportunities and expired subscriptions
• Assist with select business development activities using existing account and opportunity information
• Maintain accurate communication and follow-up with internal teams and customers

The Travel

• Approximately 50% travel, typically in 3-day stretches
• Approximately 60–70% of travel is for training and trade shows
• Remaining travel is primarily customer visits alongside Sales Representatives
• Some weekend travel and events will be required, with weekdays off provided to offset weekend work
• Company vehicle provided
• Responsible for independently coordinating travel and ensuring all training and demonstration equipment is shipped and arrives on time

What We’re Looking For

• Automotive locksmithing experience strongly preferred
• Experience with automotive key programming, vehicle keys, diagnostic equipment or related automotive locksmith technology
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new products and technologies quickly
• Comfortable performing hands-on demonstrations on live vehicles
• Polished, personable and confident interacting with customers and Sales teams
• Ability to present technical information clearly and lead groups of up to 20 people
• Highly organized with excellent time-management and follow-up skills
• Comfortable managing a significant travel schedule independently
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50%

The Ideal Candidate

We are particularly interested in someone who is early in their automotive locksmithing career, has strong technical credibility and brings a great personality to the role. Formal classroom training experience is a plus but not required for the right person. If you have the technical knowledge, confidence and presence to teach others, we can help develop the training side of your skill set.
