Job summary

ABB is seeking a Product Specialist Lead to support the Product Manager in optimizing the offering portfolio and ROI. Based onsite in Pinetops, NC, with future hybrid opportunities. You will gather market requirements, develop specifications, and assist in launches, pricing, and profitability.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree, 2+ years in a related role, experience with quotes/proposals, and proficiency in SAP, Excel, and MRP systems. Travel up to 15% may be required.

This position reports to:

Product Specialist Lead

Supports the Product Manager in optimizing the offering portfolio and return on investment. Ensures that ABB has a full understanding of market requirements in a specific area and can transform those requirements into offering specifications and development activities. Performs various offering lifecycle activities supporting the development, launch, maintenance, pricing, and profitability.

The work model for the role is: Onsite in Pinetops, NC. Some hybrid opportunities in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understands and follows global or assigned area standards, market and customer requirements, and their impact on the offering portfolio.
• Conducts valuation of market size and trends and competitor analyses including identification of offering gaps and evaluates ABB's position.
• Ensures whether technical solutions can be used across the product group's offering portfolio to the maximum possible extent.
• Manages the technical specification of the product(s) assigned and supports the Product Manager in developing the business case on offering developments, maintenance, and cost reduction.
• Follows major warranty cases and quality cost drivers for the assigned offering and ensures quick resolution.
• Collects and analyses standards, market requirements, and customer needs and values as inputs for developing a product roadmap.
• Supports the global Product Manager in creating business case for development projects or offering transfers.
• Prepares offering market communication materials, including support for new offering launches.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• 2+ years of experience in related field is required.
• Expertise in product support and customer-facing positions.
• Experience with quotes, proposals, and resolving issues related to customer concerns.
• Well-versed experience with SAP, Excel, and MRP systems is a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 15%.
