Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Product Security Engineer for Starshield in Washington, DC. You will influence the security of software across our product lines, designing cryptographic services and security-critical components for Starshield systems.

Responsibilities include building secure infrastructure, prototyping security improvements, and collaborating with other teams to outsmart adversaries in an inter-planetary context. A Top Secret clearance is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or STEM or 2+ years security software development experience.
• Experience with Python, C++, or Golang in a security context.
• Experience designing security for OS, distributed systems, or large-scale infra.

Responsibilities

• Design and build security infrastructure for Starshield, including cryptographic services.
• Develop security features for Starshield systems (router, dish, gateways, satellites).
• Integrate security into factory processes and provide network services support.
• Maintain production systems and improve security posture through implementation and guidance.
