About the Team
We are dedicated to empowering our global community of buyers and sellers. Our team partners with business leaders across the company to help make that mission a reality. We’re a cross-functional group that includes Legal, Risk Management, and Policy experts who work closely with regulators, law enforcement, and government agencies on a range of important areas including content policy, intellectual property, SEC compliance, contracts, and corporate governance.
About the Role
As a Product Safety Compliance Auditor, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our Global Regulatory team. You will work across functions and with external partners to help ensure that eBay remains a safe, trusted, and compliant marketplace. You will support regulatory escalations, manage product safety audits, and help shape strategies to prevent non-compliance. This position reports directly to the Global Regulatory Manager.
What You will Do
Lead end-to-end product safety audits by reviewing global compliance documentation.
Partner with sellers to guide them through the audit process in a clear, encouraging, and professional way.
Help craft, implement, and refine audit workflows and procedures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Trust, Business Rules, Communications, Litigation, and Government Relations.
Support regulatory, media, and NGO issues from global authorities.
Conduct investigations into non-compliant listings and seller behavior.
Track emerging trends in illegal product listings and develop strategies to reduce regulatory, financial, and brand risks.
Serve as an internal expert on product safety and Prohibited and Restricted Items (PRI) policies.
What You will Bring
2+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, unsafe products, risk or project management, financial services, or high-tech crime investigations.
Strong understanding of the eBay marketplace, with hands-on experience as both a buyer and seller.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics clearly and effectively.
High level of integrity and professionalism, with experience handling sensitive or confidential information.
Strong analytical skills; you enjoy solving problems and using data to drive decisions.
Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in English; additional languages such as French or Mandarin are a plus.
Previous experience in product safety, auditing, or CE marking is a bonus.
