Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of professional user research experience with demonstrated progression in scope and ownership.
  • Bachelor's degree in HCI, psychology, anthropology, sociology, information science, human factors, design research, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Mastery of mixed-methods research design: comfortable moving fluidly across qualitative and quantitative approaches
  • Proven ability to independently lead complex research programs and deliver strategic insights
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams
  • Strong collaborator influence skills — able to make the case for research investment and connect findings to business decisions
  • Experience in research knowledge management and building shared evidence systems
  • Expert synthesis skills: patterns, frameworks, and synthesis outputs that drive action, not just report findings
  • Commitment to ethical research practice and inclusive participant recruiting

Responsibilities

  • Lead the research agenda for a product area and design programs to address knowledge gaps.
  • Execute mixed-methods research combining qualitative depth with quantitative breadth.
  • Bridge research insights to product strategy, informing roadmap priorities and design direction.
  • Expand knowledge management standards: repositories, taxonomies, evidence standards.
  • Partner in cross-functional forums, communicating findings to product and design leadership.
  • Mentor researchers through feedback and collaborative research design.
  • Improve research operations: recruiting infrastructure, tooling, templates, processes.
  • Champion ethical research: consent, privacy, inclusive recruiting.
