Job description

At Siemens, we help organizations transform maintenance and operations through connected insights, AI-powered technology, and intelligent asset management solutions. Our software enables customers to manage the full lifecycle of assets, facilities, and infrastructure while improving efficiency, reducing risk, and optimizing long-term investments. By connecting data, people, and processes, we empower organizations to make smarter decisions, enhance asset performance, and achieve more resilient operations.

Description

As a Product Researcher at Siemens, Asset Management Software, you’ll be part of a team leading the research for one of our supported verticals (manufacturing, education, healthcare, government) — not just implementing studies, but shaping what questions get asked, what methods get used, and how insights flow into product decisions.

You’ll be a trusted research partner for your product team and a key contributor to Siemens’ broader knowledge of its users. We champion a collaborative, research-driven culture where insights are shared openly, curiosity is encouraged, and researchers have a relevant voice in product strategy.

You’ll make an impact by
  • Leading the research agenda for a product area by identifying key knowledge gaps and designing research programs to address them
  • Executing complex, mixed-methods research programs that combine qualitative depth with quantitative breadth
  • Driving the connection between research insights and product strategy — directly influencing roadmap priorities and design direction
  • Expanding knowledge management standards for your product area: research repositories, insight taxonomies, and evidence standards
  • Acting as a research partner in cross-functional forums — communicating research with confidence to product and design leadership
  • Mentoring and developing fellow researchers through structured feedback, coaching, and collaborative research design
  • Contributing to research operations improvements: recruiting infrastructure, tooling, templates, and process standards
  • Championing ethical research practice — informed consent, participant privacy, and inclusive recruiting
AI at Siemens — How This Role Uses & Builds AI

At Siemens, we are committed to creating AI-powered products that are ethical, trustworthy, and centered on real user needs. Every role at Siemens is expected to work with AI and contribute to how we build AI-powered products. In this role you will be:

  • Designing and leading research programs specifically studying how users interact with AI-powered features — trust formation, mental model accuracy, automation adoption, and AI error recovery
  • Advocating for and embedding responsible AI research practices within your team, while contributing to the development of emerging team standards
  • Incorporating advanced AI-assisted analysis techniques to synthesize large, multi-study qualitative data sets
  • Building team-level capability in AI research tools and responsible AI research methodology
  • Shaping Siemens' understanding of user attitudes toward AI across its product portfolio, informing AI product strategy from a human perspective

We're building a research organization that combines rigorous methodology with business impact, and we're looking for researchers who are excited to influence both product strategy and the future of our research practice.

What You Bring
  • 5-8 years of professional user research experience with demonstrated progression in scope and ownership
  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, Information Science, Human Factors, Design Research, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Mastery of mixed-methods research design: comfortable moving fluidly across qualitative and quantitative approaches
  • Proven ability to independently lead complex research programs and deliver strategic insights
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams
  • Strong collaborator influence skills — able to make the case for research investment and connect findings to business decisions
  • Experience in research knowledge management and building shared evidence systems
  • Expert synthesis skills: patterns, frameworks, and synthesis outputs that drive action, not just report findings
  • Commitment to ethical research practice and inclusive participant recruiting
Nice to Have
  • Experience conducting research within Education, Healthcare, Government, or Manufacturing verticals.
  • Experience conducting research in global or multinational environments.
  • Research experience with AI-powered products — studying user trust, mental models, and automation adoption
  • Background in enterprise or industrial software research
  • Expertise in specific quantitative methods: conjoint analysis, statistical survey design, or behavioral log analysis
