Job description

Contract (1 year)

Our MRO Jacksonville facility is seeking Aviation Maintenance Technicians to support military warfighter readiness through critical maintenance repairs and modifications on aircraft.

This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment offer. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of Aircraft Mechanic experience (commercial, defense, or relevant trade apprenticeship).
  • 3+ years experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
  • Ability to close tolerance drill within .003 and precision measure within .003.
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Repair overhaul structures for P8 aircraft.
  • Identify fasteners (rivet, blind rivet, screw, hi-lock, bolt or lock bolt).
  • Read and interpret blueprints, process data sheets, and maintenance instruction manuals.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of cleaning, corrosion prevention, polish or dry wash tasks.
  • Know common fastener sizes and correct cutting tools for removal and installation.
  • Remove and reinstall access panels, fairings, and damaged screws without damaging surrounding structure.
  • Safety wire and install cotter pins.
  • Apply aircraft finishes (primer, paint), Alodine, and sealants.
  • Close tolerance drill within .001 and precision measure within .0005 in metallic and composite structures.
  • Perform structural repairs and modifications on strike fighters, commercial derivative aircraft, and flight control components.
  • Utilize measuring tools such as micrometer, dial caliper, grip gauges, feeler gauge, depth gauge, trimic, and bore gauges.
  • Fabricate, locate, trim, drill/ream, and assemble metallic and composite components; make major/minor modifications to aircraft skins and other structural components.
  • Install rivets, blind fasteners, hiloks, etc. in metallic and composite structures.
  • Use assembly jigs, repair equipment, and other fixed tooling to locate parts, trim, shim, final drill, deburr, and build components to meet blueprint requirements.
  • Ensure aircraft technical log book, maintenance documentation, work packages, and zonal handovers are completed accurately and within prescribed timescales.
  • Read and comprehend Airworthiness Directives, Technical Directives, and Service Bulletins to effective aircraft.
  • Highlight technical issues, discrepancies, or other issues to the program lead and manager.

  • Perform detailed tool inventories daily.
  • Communicate using basic computer systems, including Microsoft Office.
  • Contribute positively to an open and honest reporting culture.
  • Report incidents and occurrences in the Boeing Safety Management System.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company processes, and procedures.
  • Maintain high standard of organization and cleanliness ("Clean as You Go").
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Be flexible to ensure aircraft are delivered on time to customer.
  • Perform other duties as directed by management for the benefit of the company, program or employee(s).
  • Associate Level: perform tasks with little or general supervision.
  • Experienced Level: perform tasks with no supervision and assist others.
Pay Rate Range

Min Pay Rate: $25 per hour

Max Pay Rate: $30 per hour
