Job summary

Byrne is seeking a Product Reliability Engineer to ensure long-term performance, safety, compliance and reliability of Byrne products throughout their lifecycle.

The role involves laboratory testing, validation, and lifecycle testing on both new and existing products, plus analyzing data and implementing corrective actions in partnership with multiple engineering teams. Automation and AI-enabled data tools will support reporting and decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology or related technical discipline.
• Experience with laboratory test equipment, instrumentation or data collection systems preferred.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory testing including safety, compliance, validation, reliability, environmental and lifecycle testing of Byrne products.
• Executes lifecycle testing programs and determines re-test schedules for products in production.
• Analyzes test results, field performance data and failure trends to identify reliability concerns and improvement opportunities.
• Conducts root cause investigations and failure analysis of products, assemblies and components.
• Proposes design solutions and creates prototypes to support corrective actions and product enhancements.
• Supports qualification of new materials, suppliers, components and manufacturing processes through testing and validation.
• Supports creation of test plans, procedures, work instructions, reports and engineering documentation.
• Supports calibration, maintenance and continuous improvement of laboratory equipment, fixtures and test systems.
• Identifies opportunities for automated methods and uses AI-enabled tools to improve data capture and lab workflows.
• Other duties as assigned.
