Product Quality Control Manager

Baker Operations US CONNELLY SPRINGS, Connelly Springs, NC, US

Salary Range: $60,000.00 To $80,000.00 Annually

BASIC FUNCTION

Lead all aspects of a quality initiative and its associated systems throughout the Baker organization to improve our quality performance. This position will have responsibility for development, implementation, management, and administration of all aspects of the initiative.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Business responsibility

  • Develop and lead corporate and individual plant quality programs, including policies, objectives, plans, procedures and systems.
  • Assure the documentation of the programs and their distribution to promote the concept of the quality program, and related goals and objectives
  • Lead development, formulation and documentation of company policies and quality system needs
  • Initial focus to include: cost of quality, returns, incoming material inspection, supplier quality assurance, process excellence, quality inspection, tracking and reporting, development of corrective actions.

2. Systems responsibility

  • Provide leadership in the establishment, development, and maintenance of quality systems.
  • Assure and contribute to the regular collection and analysis of quality information necessary to measure the effectiveness of Baker's quality program.
  • Optimize the investment in prevention, appraisal and failure costs and measure the return on the quality investment on a quantifiable basis

3. Technical responsibility

  • Provide the technique and guidance for selecting and implementing the best of many statistical design approaches to study effects of significant factors at different quality levels.
  • Provide for management understanding of the principles of quality business processes.
  • Provide for the suitable application of the engineering and statistical technologies of quality control as they relate to quality planning, process capability and control and information systems.
  • Assure the effectiveness of the quality improvement program by conducting systems, procedure, process and product audits on an on-going basis.
  • Maintain awareness of current as well as emerging philosophies of competitive business practices on a global basis.

4. Direct the periodic audit of quality program procedures to ensure compliance with quality system requirements and appropriate specifications. Communicate findings and ensure follow-up as required to achieve necessary corrective action.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • College degree in engineering or physical sciences, or equivalent experience with a good understanding of quality systems, statistics, management and quality technologies in general.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years related experience including at least two (2) years in supervisory positions.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills necessary.
