Job summary

Mainspring Energy is seeking a driven Product Qualification Test Engineer to join the test engineering team in Menlo Park. You will work across thermodynamics, mechanical, electrical, software, and controls disciplines on the company\'s accelerators and linear generators.

You will perform hands-on testing, qualify units for customer sites, and help scale testing processes. A Master\'s degree in engineering or physics with 3+ years of relevant experience is required, along with programming skills

Qualifications

• Master's degree in engineering or physics with 3+ years of applicable experience.
• Experience conducting experimental hardware projects, especially in product qualification or manufacturing test engineering.
• Experience in project management.
• Proficiency in programming in at least one language (e.g. Python, MATLAB).
• Detail-oriented and comfortable in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team setting.
• Enjoy working in interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on work and operate Linear Generator units, working closely with end-of-line team.
• Qualify cores and units to be shipped to customers' sites and support contract manufacturing.
• Outline and develop testing processes and infrastructure to scale up product qualification tests.
• Generate, analyze, and automate data reports on new units and collaborate with engineering to root cause issues.
• In collaboration with manufacturing testing, develop new automation processes to scale up qualification testing in manufacturing.
