Job summary

Super Micro Computer in San Jose, CA is seeking a Purchasing/Planning professional to plan and purchase material requirements for ongoing production and new products.

You will maintain purchasing records, monitor supplier performance, and work with cross‑functional teams to ensure on‑time delivery and cost efficiency.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management is preferred; at least 1 year of purchasing experience; strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year purchasing and planning experience with contract manufacturers, ideally in computer hardware or server products.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; Mandarin a plus.
• Ability to present data clearly and create dashboards using Excel.
• Experience with lean principles and JIT environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and purchase material requirements to ensure flow for ongoing production and for new products.
• Prepare and review purchasing requisitions; maintain records.
• Monitor and resolve production material shortages and manage supplier relationships.
• Track inventory levels against forecasts and adjust plans as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on pricing, delivery, and cost optimization.
