Job summary

Confidential Client is seeking a Product & Process Improvement Engineer to own initiatives from conception to results on the shop floor. You will analyze complex systems and implement cost-saving changes across engineering and operations, collaborating across departments to deliver measurable business impact.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, 5+ years in manufacturing, CAD proficiency with 3D modeling and 2D drawings, and strong change-control and data analysis skills,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Track record of reducing costs via product modifications or process improvements.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools including 3D modeling and 2D drawings.
  • Strong documentation skills and experience with change control processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to present data-driven insights.
  • Hands-on thinker with strong cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to reduce costs across materials, labor, scrap, warranty, and supplier expenses.
  • Perform teardown analyses, BOM reviews, labor assessments, and supplier benchmarking to locate improvement areas.
  • Lead value engineering and design-to-cost modifications while preserving quality.
  • Improve manufacturability using DFM/ DFA, standard work, and lean/Kaizen practices.
  • Coordinate engineering change orders and support implementation on the shop floor.
  • Collaborate with sourcing to evaluate alternatives and conduct technical reviews.
  • Support DFMEA/PFMEA activities addressing risks tied to changes.
  • Develop clear business cases and executive updates; monitor realized savings.

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

  • Strong documentation skills and experience with change control processes
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, comfortable presenting data-driven insights
  • Hands-on thinker with excellent cross-functional collaboration skills

Key Responsibilities:
