Job summary

Perplexity, an AI company, seeks a practical attorney to join our Product, Privacy and Regulatory Legal team in San Francisco. You will have a clear center of gravity in consumer protection with a flexible mandate across product counseling, privacy, regulatory matters, marketing, subscriptions, and international expansion.

You will advise on consumer protection and privacy, review marketing initiatives, and help respond to regulators and customer escalations.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school or equivalent and U.S. bar licensure.
• At least five years of relevant consumer protection or product counseling experience.
• Strong command of U.S. consumer protection law and enforcement principles.

Responsibilities

• Advise on consumer protection, privacy, and regulatory issues across products and marketing.
• Review adtech, martech, subscriptions, pricing, and renewals for compliance.
• Counsel product and engineering teams on privacy, data use, and AI governance.
• Lead cross-functional launches and translate requirements into practical product choices.
• Support regulator inquiries and responses in partnership with outside counsel.
