Descrição da oferta de emprego

Product Analyst II — Product & Pricing

Department: Product Development | Location: Charlotte, NC | Role: Individual contributor | Direct reports: None | Reports to: Sr. Manager, Product & Pricing |

About the Role

Our client, an established vehicle service contract and F&I product administrator, is hiring a Product Analyst II to own product and pricing workstreams end to end. The seat covers two books: a large captive dealer-group program and a growing portfolio of private-label programs for multi-rooftop dealer groups nationwide. New dealer groups are launching, the growth pipeline is active, and the product work that comes with it needs an owner, not just a builder. That distinction is what this seat is hired on. It takes a product line or pricing program from the first loss study through the recommendation, the approval package, the client review and the follow-through, and answers for the outcome.

This is an individual-contributor seat for someone who has led before (manager, team lead or program lead) and wants to own substantial outcomes now, with room to lead again as the group grows. Manager-level scope is expected to open as the group scales, and readiness will be judged on performance in seats like this one.

What a product needs decided, recommended or presented sits here. Configuration, loads and verification are executed by an Operations Analyst. Target loss ratios, final rate authority and class-guide sign-off sit with the Sr. Manager. Client relationships and commercial terms sit with the Sr. Director.

Division of Work
  • Sr. Product Analyst (peer): Lanes split by book. This seat carries the standard product catalog and the captive dealer-group product and pricing lanes; the peer carries client program and dealer intake lanes. Neither directs the other; the Sr. Manager settles boundary questions.
  • Operations Analyst: This seat specifies and recommends; that seat configures, loads and proves. Corrections and load packages pass between them as work product.
  • Sr. Manager, Product & Pricing: Owns targets, final rate authority and class-guide sign-off; this seat owns the builds, studies and recommendations behind them.
  • Sr. Director: Owns client commitments and commercial terms; this seat owns the analysis and presentation-ready material behind them.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Ownership (~35%)
  • Build and own a standard product catalog that every new dealer group launches from, replacing one-off copies of prior builds.
  • Own a price-increase program end to end: loss studies, staged rate structures, approval package, and follow-through until approved rates are loaded and verified.
  • Take new coverages (including commercial and maintenance products) from concept to carrier approval to market.
  • Benchmark rates and contract form language (coverage grants, exclusions, limits of liability) against factory programs and national administrators.
Pricing & Loss Analytics (~25%)
  • Build the loss studies behind price, reserve and eligibility changes: earned loss ratio, frequency vs. severity, cost per contract per year, cancel behavior and average term, cut by product, tier, class, mileage band and vintage.
  • Bring the rate-currency backlog current on a dated plan, oldest and worst first.
  • Carry rate actions on known loss-ratio problems to stated targets, staging relief where the loss data sits rather than spreading it evenly.
Client & Program Reviews (~20%)
  • Build and present quarterly claims and loss reviews and annual program reviews for assigned client programs, on cadence.
  • Present pricing changes and program recommendations to internal leadership and client executives as the person who built the numbers.
Program & Cross-Functional Leadership (~20%)
  • Serve as launch owner for new programs: product suite design, rate development, dates, training and go-live readiness.
  • Run multi-party workstreams to a date across regulatory, platform configuration, data and external partners (underwriters, carriers, obligors, subadministrators).
  • Deliver launch product and pricing content on schedule, with cost and configuration implications spelled out.
  • Raise the analyst bench informally: review work, share method, and document reasoning so it can be repeated.
A Representative Week
  • Build a staged rate structure for a price increase, model it against the target loss ratio, and send it up with projected cost per contract.
  • Present a quarterly claims and loss review to a client leadership team and take the follow-up list.
  • Spec a coverage change to Operations and sign off the test-contract results.
  • Draft the first products of the standard catalog and benchmark them against national administrators.
  • Run the weekly call for an in-flight launch and clear a carrier-approval blocker with the underwriter.
  • Meet with the Sr. Manager on next quarter’s rate-action targets and leave with decisions documented.
Required Qualifications
  • 5–8 years in F&I product administration, vehicle service contracts, warranty or insurance pricing and product analytics. Dealer group, administrator, TPA, obligor and agency backgrounds all count.
  • Prior experience leading a team, function or program of record.
  • Working command of VSC and ancillary economics: reserves, admin fees, packs and markups, earning methods and curves, class guides, term and mileage banding, deductibles, surcharges, cancel behavior and earned loss ratio.
  • Has personally owned a product or pricing outcome end to end: built the analysis, made the recommendation, carried it through approval, and answered for the result.
  • Advanced Excel (large multi-sheet rate workbooks), strong SQL against a production warehouse, and BI experience (Sigma and/or Tableau).
  • Polished, executive- and client-ready deliverables in PowerPoint and Word, presented credibly to senior audiences.
  • Bachelor’s in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, analytics or business, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Reinsurance structure literacy: CFC, DOWC and retro programs, cession flow, trust mechanics.
  • Experience launching or supporting white-label or private-label client programs.
  • Working knowledge of state service-contract requirements, Florida in particular.
  • Python for recurring analysis; experience with AI agent tooling and Git-versioned work.
Systems & Tools
  • Industry policy administration platform (PCMI or similar)
  • SQL Server / Snowflake
  • Excel
  • Sigma and Tableau
  • Python
  • Microsoft 365
  • Asana
  • DocuSign
  • AI agent tooling
What Success Looks Like
  • 90 days: Owns one lane end to end without rework, has a dated rate-currency plan on assigned products, and has presented once to internal leadership.
  • 6 months: First version of the standard catalog exists and a new group can launch from it; the price-increase program is moving on plan; client reviews run solo and on cadence.
  • 12 months: New coverages are moving toward carrier approval, rate currency on assigned lanes is green, and those lanes run without escalation.
