Job summary

Replit is seeking a Product Engineer to help build and advance the shared platform that powers thousands of applications. You will focus on frontend, backend, or full-stack work, delivering fast, reliable, and cost-efficient systems for a growing user base.

You will collaborate with product teams to reduce friction, profile and improve latency, and ensure safe defaults across the product platform. This role is based in Foster City, CA with in-office requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping and operating software in production.
• Built and operated platform systems that other teams depend on.
• Able to make and communicate tradeoffs across UX, correctness, delivery speed, and long-term maintainability.
• Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, design, and product partners.
• Fluent in modern web stacks (TypeScript, React, Node.js, Postgres).

Responsibilities

• Design reusable primitives and interfaces with clear contracts and documentation adopted by other teams.
• Work directly with product teams to turn friction into platform improvements.
• Profile and instrument shared systems, then ship latency, cost, and reliability improvements.
• Harden systems against failure and abuse, and make safe defaults the path of least resistance.
• Set technical direction in architecture and design reviews, documenting decisions and rollout plans.
