Descrizione del lavoro

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Owner / Senior Product Owner – Engineering Tools based in the United States (Remote). As a Product Owner, you will drive the development and delivery of software solutions that improve workflows across the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. You will serve as the central point of contact for product priorities, requirements, and decisions, ensuring engineering teams deliver solutions that address real user needs. Working closely with engineers, designers, QA specialists, AEC professionals, and business stakeholders, you will translate complex workflows into clear, actionable product requirements. You will lead discovery activities, facilitate Agile delivery, manage priorities, and validate outcomes against business objectives. This role combines product ownership, business analysis, technical coordination, and practical knowledge of AEC workflows in a collaborative, Microsoft-centric technology environment. It also offers opportunities to develop your product leadership capabilities and progress toward senior product or solution delivery leadership positions.

Accountabilities
  • Product Direction and Backlog Management: Own backlog prioritization and work readiness for an assigned Engineering Tools software development team, balancing user value, business objectives, technical feasibility, delivery constraints, risks, and dependencies.
  • Requirements Discovery and Analysis: Collaborate with AEC practitioners, end users, subject-matter experts, and stakeholders to identify workflow challenges, understand business needs, and define valuable product solutions.
  • Product Requirements Development: Translate AEC terminology, design and construction workflows, model-based processes, and project data requirements into actionable user stories, workflows, business rules, acceptance criteria, and delivery-ready backlog items.
  • Risk and Dependency Management: Identify assumptions, edge cases, integration challenges, interoperability risks, and data impacts early in the development process to help teams make informed decisions before committing to solutions.
  • Agile Delivery Facilitation: Lead Agile ceremonies, support sprint planning and execution, remove blockers, facilitate retrospectives, and promote continuous improvement in team collaboration and delivery effectiveness.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with engineering, product design, QA, project management, client success, and product adoption and training teams to maintain alignment on priorities, requirements, dependencies, and delivery expectations.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate product decisions, priorities, constraints, risks, and progress clearly, ensuring stakeholders remain aligned and product intent is consistently understood throughout implementation.
  • Quality Assurance and Outcome Validation: Participate in release-readiness activities and validate completed functionality against approved requirements, representative AEC workflows, and intended business outcomes.
  • Feedback and Continuous Improvement: Gather post-release feedback, evaluate whether delivered solutions meet user needs, and incorporate lessons learned into future backlog priorities and product improvements.
  • Product Leadership Development: Take on increasingly complex initiatives involving multiple AEC disciplines, integrations, data exchanges, and business processes while strengthening discovery, prioritization, facilitation, and delivery leadership skills.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other related duties as assigned and contribute to the overall success of the product and delivery organization.
Requirements
  • Professional Experience: Three to five years of relevant experience in product ownership, business analysis, Agile delivery, software development, solution delivery, the AEC industry, or a related discipline.
  • Product and Software Delivery Experience: Experience supporting a software development team as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Scrum Master, Product Management professional, or in a comparable role.
  • AEC Industry Knowledge: Professional experience in architecture, engineering, or construction, with a practical understanding of design and construction workflows, project delivery, and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Requirements and Backlog Management: Proven ability to translate practitioner needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and clear, testable requirements that development teams can implement.
  • Agile and Scrum Knowledge: Working knowledge of Agile and Scrum practices, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, team ceremonies, delivery tracking, and continuous improvement.
  • Revit Familiarity: Practical familiarity with Revit sufficient to understand user workflows, terminology, model-based coordination, and the impact of software changes. Advanced Revit production, content creation, API development, or specialist-level expertise is not required.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams, facilitate discussions, and align stakeholders around product decisions.
  • Prioritization and Decision-Making: Demonstrated ability to balance user value, product quality, technical feasibility, business priorities, delivery risks, and competing stakeholder needs.
