Job summary

Vertech is seeking a seasoned Product Owner to bridge customers and development teams, shaping MES and enterprise SCADA projects for manufacturing clients. You will translate business needs into clear roadmaps and measurable outcomes, while ensuring the team always understands why we build something, not just what.

You will manage backlogs, define scope, and drive sprint readiness with Agile/Scrum practices. Travel up to 20% is possible; prior experience with Ignition is a plus.

Qualifications

• BS in computer science, math, electrical, mechanical, chemical or related engineering field or relevant experience.
• 7-10+ years of MES or enterprise SCADA experience in project-based industries.
• Strong understanding of agile development and Scrum.
• Experience in a Product Owner role with customer scoping and roadmaps.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

What You Will Be Doing

• Serve as the primary liaison between customers and development teams, ensuring our solutions are aligned with business needs and the team can articulate why they are building something, not just what to build
• Set product goals that provide vision and clarity, are achievable by the team, and provide value to customers
• Maintain multiple refined product backlogs that provide sufficient and selectable user stories to ensure developers are able to create sprint plans from what's available and meaningfully represent stakeholder needs
• Define project scope and initialization, write clear and actionable requirements, ensure backlog readiness, and facilitate quality checkpoints to ensure sprint readiness and execution
• Support developers with prompt and detailed clarifications from a user perspective, and without pre-supposed technical solutions
• Hold accountability for project quality and delivery

What You Need for this Position

• BS in computer science, math, electrical, mechanical, chemical or related engineering field or relevant experience
• 7-10+ years of experience developing MES, high level enterprise SCADA systems, or similar, preferably in a project based industry.
• Strong understanding of agile development methodology and how to run a project in Scrum format.
• Experience in a Product Owner role or similar capacity, with strong ability to work directly with customers to scope projects, define long term roadmaps, and proactively identify risks
• Ability to ensure alignment with customer objectives, manage expectations, and drive continuous improvement in the product development lifecycle
• Experience with Ignition platform is a huge plus
• Ability to travel up to 20%
