Job summary

AXIS Capital in the United States (New York) is seeking an experienced Operations Product Owner to drive transformation and agile delivery across global operations teams. You will define product vision, manage backlog, translate requirements into user stories, and lead sprint ceremonies while mentoring teams.

Travel internationally expected; hybrid office presence at least 3 days weekly. Requirements include 5+ years in insurance and 3+ years in Agile, CSPO preferred; strong stakeholder

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in Insurance; at least 3 years as a Product Owner in an Agile environment.
• Background in Operations transformation and insurance systems integration.
• Knowledge of P&C Commercial and Specialty lines; North American and Global Operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field.
• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar certification preferred.
• Experience with AI tools in Specialty Insurance Operations.

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate a product vision and roadmap aligned with AXIS strategy and stakeholder needs.
• Lead operational readiness for product launches, ensuring systems and processes are aligned.
• Translate requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria for agile delivery teams.
• Manage and prioritize the Operations product backlog to focus on high-impact initiatives.
• Facilitate sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups with delivery teams.
• Track and report Agile delivery metrics to monitor team performance and product impact.
• Champion Agile principles and coach team members on best practices and continuous improvement.
• Ensure user feedback is continuously gathered and integrated into product iterations.
• Empower cross-functional teams to make decisions and deliver value independently.
• Use Agile tools to manage backlogs, track progress, and communicate priorities.
