Job summary

Frost in San Antonio is seeking a Product Owner II to lead one or more teams in delivering elegant, secure products that improve customers’ financial lives. You’ll champion the product vision, write acceptance criteria, and align work with Frost’s strategic direction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in product management, customer experience management, business analysis, software engineering, banking, finance, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial, and collaborative mindset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft computer applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with one or more teams to deliver world-class products and services.
  • Assist in the creation of long-term product strategies to implement the product plan in adherence to Frost Executive direction.
  • Effectively communicate a project’s impact to the quadruple bottom line, priority, development approach, and release plan to the internal and external stakeholders
  • Establish relationships and partner with customers, users, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to learn and research the product space.
  • Develop solution descriptions and acceptance criteria for team use. Communicate business needs and the overarching vision for the business solution to IT support teams
  • Monitor the status of pending projects to ensure that the team remains focused on building relevant products with reliable architecture at an appropriate speed.
  • Write acceptance criteria and requirements for moderately complex projects while deciding which projects are feasible and provide business value.
  • Establish one or more product backlogs that flow work to multiple implementation teams to maximize joint value
  • Document current and proposed processes. Analyze the impacts of integrating proposed process changes
  • Ensure that all new features and programs meet business and system requirements. Monitor KPIs to establish project success
  • Evaluate potential process and system improvements to identify and prioritize future projects.
  • Mentor junior Product Owners within the same product portfolio.

Who you are:

As a Product Owner II , you are responsible for engaging and collaborating with one or more teams for a complex product area to implement Frost’s vision of products and services that are elegant, secure, and improve people’s financial lives. What you’ll do:

  • Establish relationships and partner with customers, users, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to learn and research the product space, including how current products and services work and how to leverage new approaches and technologies

  • Develop solution descriptions and acceptance criteria for team use. Communicate business needs and the overarching vision for the business solution to IT support teams

  • Monitor the status of pending projects to ensure that the team remains focused on building relevant products with reliable architecture at an appropriate speed. As needed, adapt projects to maximize total value

  • Write acceptance criteria and requirements for moderately complex projects while deciding which projects are feasible and provide business value. Estimate project size and establish a clear minimum viable product (MVP)

  • Establish one or more product backlogs that flow work to multiple implementation teams to maximize joint value

  • Document current and proposed processes. Analyze the impacts of integrating proposed process changes with current processes across different products and functions

  • Ensure that all new features and programs meet business and system requirements. Effectively monitor key performance indicators to establish project success

  • Evaluate potential process and system improvements to identify and prioritize future projects. Redesign current operational processes to utilize new technology and resources in a more efficient manner

  • Mentor junior Product Owners within the same product portfolio.

  • Always take action using Integrity, Caring, and Excellence to achieve all-win outcomes

What you’ll need:

  • 2+ years of experience in product management, customer experience management, business analysis, software engineering, banking, finance, or a related field

Additional Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with digital technologies, including desktop and mobile

  • Experience with Agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban
