Nelnet, Inc. is seeking a Product Owner for NBSApply in Lincoln, NE with hybrid work options. Responsibilities include coordinating product development, release planning, and delivering BI reports and dashboards for K-12 administrators and educators within a student information system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years related experience or existing product knowledge.
• Experience with business intelligence or reporting tools — Power BI strongly preferred.
• Experience with K-12 education data or student information systems preferred.
• Ability to read and write basic SQL queries, or comparable experience exploring and validating data.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with agile development teams to create use cases, requirements, and estimates.
• Serve as liaison between school/district users and development team; translate reporting needs into requirements.
• Define metric and data definitions to ensure reports are accurate and trusted.
• Collaborate on data model with data/engineering teams to ensure accurate reporting.
• Manage lifecycle of report and dashboard catalog; prioritize new reports and coordinate releases.
• Shape self-service reporting: build, save, share, and find reports with role-based access controls.
• Ensure FERPA and data privacy in reporting solutions across districts and schools.
• Use analytics to understand adoption and inform prioritization.
• Validate report mockups and dashboards with clients.
