Job description

OVERVIEW

This Product Owner position is with a healthcare insurance industry organization where you'll join their Data and Analytics team. You'll be responsible for maximizing the value of data products that support healthcare operations and customer experience initiatives. Working within an Agile/DevSecOps pod model, you'll translate business requirements into actionable user stories, manage the product backlog, and work directly with development teams to ensure successful implementation of data solutions leveraging the organization's modern cloud-based tech stack centered around Snowflake, dbt Cloud, and Azure.

  • Duration: 6+ months contract
  • Location: Remote, but must reside in California, Arizona, Washington, Oregon, Nevada. Working hours will be PST. Preference for California.
  • Rate: $60/hr - $90/hr DOE

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog to maximize business value and align with organizational strategy
  • Create detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria following agile best practices
  • Serve as the primary liaison between stakeholders and development teams
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and demonstrations
  • Ensure the development team understands requirements and user stories to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Define and validate acceptance criteria for all user stories
  • Maintain a close working relationship with development teams, providing clarification and making decisions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and translate them into technical requirements
  • Work within the established Agile/DevSecOps pod model alongside solution architects, data engineers, and analysts
  • Support data governance initiatives and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner in an agile environment
  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare (managed care, health insurance, or similar)
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent agile certification
  • Experience with backlog management, user story creation, and acceptance criteria definition
  • Strong understanding of data platforms, particularly Snowflake and dbt Cloud
  • Proficiency with agile project management tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Working knowledge of data governance and healthcare regulatory requirements (HIPAA, HITRUST)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with Data Vault methodology and data warehouse concepts
    • Familiarity with Azure cloud technologies and Azure DevOps
    • Knowledge of contact center operations and customer experience metrics
    • Understanding of healthcare payment models and claims processing
    • Experience with data observability platforms and data quality monitoring tools
    • Background with data migration projects from traditional databases to cloud platforms
    • Experience with Collibra for data governance and quality management
    • Familiarity with Tableau for data visualization and reporting
