Product Owner – Clinical Claims Data Product

Fully Remote / 9-12 month Contract / United States

This is an opportunity to play a key role in the modernisation of clinical claims data products for healthcare payer organisations. You will work closely with business, clinical, actuarial, analytics, and technology teams to improve claims classification capabilities, support data product transformation, and drive better business outcomes through trusted healthcare data.

Their teams partner with clients to modernise claims data products, improve operational efficiency, and enable more effective decision-making across clinical and financial functions.

The Role & Deliverables

• Lead discovery workshops with business, clinical, actuarial, claims, compliance, analytics, and technology stakeholders.
• Document current-state claims classification processes, workflows, dependencies, and reporting use cases.
• Translate business requirements into user stories, business rules, process maps, acceptance criteria, and validation documentation.
• Support the design and validation of claims classification, medical grouper, and service category frameworks.
• Conduct impact assessments, variance analysis, UAT planning, and migration readiness activities.
• Partner with technical, data, and AI teams to ensure solutions are governed, explainable, and aligned with business needs.

Your Skills & Experience

• Strong experience within healthcare payer claims, claims analytics, medical economics, payment integrity, actuarial analytics, clinical coding, or healthcare data products.
• Expertise in medical groupers, claims classification, service category logic, claims editing, or payment integrity solutions.
• Knowledge of payer claims data, including healthcare coding standards such as ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, DRG/APC, and related claims workflows.
• Experience facilitating cross-functional stakeholder workshops and translating complex business requirements into actionable deliverables.
• Proven capability supporting UAT, parallel testing, business impact assessments, and migration activities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, data, analytics, and AI teams while maintaining a business-focused perspective.
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, SQL, Power BI, Databricks, or healthcare analytics platforms is advantageous.
• +8 years of experience in the healthcare industry.
