Job Title: Product Manager / Product Owner
Remote | Contract | United States
About the company
We find the manual work slowing teams down, rebuild it as automations inside tools clients already own, and run them. Our platform moves each client through four stages: discover the manual work, design the fix as an approved SOP, build it in the client's existing tools, and run and measure it. An AI interviewer captures how work really happens by chat, voice and screen share, and also answers process questions inside Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Slack. We have delivered 311 projects for more than 100 companies.
The role
You own the product backlog for a platform that already has paying clients and an internal delivery team using it daily. You turn what clients, consultants and builders run into each week into clear, ranked work for a small founding engineering team. Most of your users are within reach: client operators, our own consultants, and forward-deployed builders.
What you will do
- Own and rank the backlog across the client platform, the internal delivery system and the AI layer.
- Write problem statements, user stories and acceptance criteria engineers can build from without a meeting.
- Run sprint planning and review with the founding engineers, and accept or reject finished work.
- Talk to client operators, consultants and builders every week, and turn what you hear into evidence for priorities.
- Shape the discovery-to-SOP flow: how interviews become process maps, how drafts get approved, and how SOPs become priced projects.
- Define how the autonomy ladder works for users: when a workflow moves from full review to spot-checks to running on its own, and what the user sees at each step.
- Own product metrics: time from interview to approved SOP, workflows in production, hours saved per workflow, and assistant usage.
- Work with the AI engineer on evaluation targets for interviewer accuracy and SOP quality.
- Keep release notes and help docs current for clients and the builder network.
What you bring
- 12 years as a product manager or product owner on B2B SaaS.
- Shipped at least one product or major feature that uses LLMs.
- Strong written specs; you are comfortable when most of your influence is in writing.
- Experience running agile ceremonies with a small team, without a dedicated scrum master.
- Working knowledge of automation and no-code tools such as Airtable, Make, Zapier or n8n.
- Enough data skill to pull and read your own numbers.
- Comfort with a part-time scope: you protect your hours and are clear about what will and will not get done.
Nice to have
- Background in operations, process improvement or consulting.
- Experience with services-led or forward-deployed product companies.
- Product work on integrations or assistant apps for Slack, Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini.
- Early-stage startup experience.
How we measure success
- A ranked backlog engineers trust, with no sprint starting on unclear stories.
- Shorter time from first client interview to first workflow in production.
- More workflows promoted up the autonomy ladder without an increase in errors.
