Job summary

Abbott in Lake Forest, IL is seeking a Product Marketing Manager for Sexual Health within the Molecular Diagnostics Division to drive the global marketing strategy for a suite of products and maintain worldwide product expertise, including market sizes and customer needs.

You will collaborate with global peers, develop annual marketing plans, support new product development, and align with Headquarters and Regions to execute plans across markets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Marketing, with an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • At least 3 years of substantial financial skills, market analysis and advanced communication skills.
  • At least 2 years of knowledge/ability to develop and execute a product launch.
  • At least 3 years of strong analytical skills as well as written and oral communication skills.
  • At least 2 years of experience being able to understand technical and scientific information.
  • At least 3 years of understanding and complying with Regulatory requirements.
  • Must be able to influence and motivate individuals from sales, marketing, and other functional areas to drive product sales.
  • Must be able to complete multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain worldwide market expertise for products and franchises, including in-depth knowledge of competitor products and strategies, market trends and dynamics, market/franchise critical success factors, and customer needs.
  • Develop and update annual marketing plans/strategies including market analysis, customer segmentation and targeting, product positioning, competitive assessments, and SWOT or other situation assessments.
  • Create and develop strategies for new product commercialization and driving share capture for existing products.
  • Assess new markets and opportunities in support of BD and R&D.
  • Downstream product strategies may include supporting sales training, marketing campaigns, digital and paid media, CRM, KOL management.
  • Partner with global peers and in‑market experts to build the brand to achieve business goals.
  • Ensure alignment of cross‑functions at Headquarters and Regions to insight direction.
  • Liaison effectively with global stakeholders, both at Headquarters and in the Regions, in a matrix organizational design to bring plans to fruition.
  • As for every leadership position, this individual is Responsible for compliance with applicable corporate and divisional policies and procedures.

The Opportunity

This position works out of our office in Lake Forest, IL location in the Abbott Molecular , Diagnostics Division . We're empowering smarter medical and economic decision-making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott's diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people.

As the Product Marketing Manager, Sexual Health, you will be working on highly visible projects within the molecular diagnostics business unit and will be responsible for driving execution of the global product marketing strategy for a suite of products. The Product Marketing Manager shall maintain worldwide product expertise for products/franchises, including market sizes/trend share, customer needs and targeting, product performance/benefits/weaknesses/positioning. The person hired in this role will also provide on‑going support of new product development including customer requirements definition, product concept validation, financial analysis, and securing Business Unit alignment.

What You'll Work On

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (± 16 years) in Business Administration or marketing with an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • At least 3 years of substantial financial skills, market analysis and advanced communication skills.
  • At least 2 years of knowledge/ability to develop and execute a product launch.
  • At least 3 years of strong analytical skills as well as written and oral communication skills.
  • At least 2 years of experience being able to understand technical and scientific information.
  • At least 3 years of understanding and complying with Regulatory requirements.
  • Must be able to influence and motivate individuals from sales, marketing, and other functional areas to drive product sales.
  • Must be able to complete multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA strongly preferred.
  • 3+ Years in product management or brand marketing (upstream and/or downstream) with preferably 2 years in global marketing or area marketing.
  • Experience working in health care/med device organizations.
  • Previous experience in product commercialization, marketing campaign development, customer segmentation.
  • Development of agency briefs, agency management.
  • Excellent presentation skills and comfortable with presenting to Sr. Leadership.
  • Sales experience.
