Job Summary:

As Product Manager for ODM Devices, you will own and drive Eagle's ODM roadmap: the portfolio of finished wireless devices (consumer wireless routers, gateways, CPE, and related connected products) that Eagle brings to market through ODM, JDM, and EMS engagements, with a mandate to move that manufacturing to Tectalon in Ohio.

You will define what these devices need to be, starting with consumer wireless router requirements, and build the partner and manufacturing strategy that gets them built in the US. You will also partner directly with engineering to drive each device from concept through development, qualification, and launch — owning the schedule, tradeoffs, and readiness decisions that get it to market. You will work alongside the module product managers as a key voice in determining where modules should be produced, ensuring module siting decisions support the device programs and US manufacturing strategy you are driving.

This is a foundational role in a facility in startup mode. You will work closely with the Tectalon leadership team across manufacturing, quality, and capital projects, with engineering, module product management and program management, and with sales teams engaging carriers, MSOs, and OEM customers.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

ODM Device Roadmap & Requirements

• Own the ODM device roadmap: define the portfolio of finished devices Eagle will bring to market, beginning with consumer wireless routers and gateway/CPE products.
• Write and maintain product requirements documents (PRDs) for each device: feature set, chipset and Eagle module selection, WiFi and cellular capabilities, software and firmware requirements (including OpenWRT-based platforms), industrial design, cost targets, and certification scope (FCC, PTCRB, carrier).
• Conduct market and competitive analysis of the consumer router, gateway, and CPE landscape to position Eagle devices on features, cost, and US origin.
• Build and defend the business case for each device program: target customers, volume forecasts, BOM and landed cost, NRE, pricing, and margin.

Product Development & Launch (with Engineering)

• Partner with engineering across the full device lifecycle — architecture, DVT/PVT, qualification — owning milestones, scope tradeoffs, and go/no-go decisions.
• Drive launch readiness end-to-end: align engineering, manufacturing, quality, and certification timelines to hit committed launch dates.
• Act as the primary connective tissue between engineering and the business — translating customer/market requirements into engineering scope, and engineering constraints back into the roadmap and business case.

ODM / JDM / EMS Manufacturing Transition to Ohio

• Drive the strategy to move ODM, JDM, and EMS device manufacturing to Tectalon in Ohio, defining which programs transfer, in what sequence, and what capability, capacity, and investment each requires.
• Evaluate, select, and manage ODM/JDM/EMS partners; lead RFQ processes and negotiate program structures that support a transition path to US production.
• Partner with Tectalon manufacturing, quality, and capital projects leadership to translate device programs into factory requirements: line configuration, test and automation needs, staffing, and qualification timelines.
• Manage device NPI at Tectalon in partnership with engineering and manufacturing and quality: prototype builds, design-for-manufacturing feedback, first article, and production ramp.

Module Production Siting Input

• Serve as a key stakeholder in determining where Eagle modules should be produced, bringing device program demand, US-origin requirements, and cost considerations into site allocation decisions between Solon and Penang.
• Provide requirements input to module product managers and manufacturing leadership on which orderable configurations (OCs) should be qualified for Solon production to support device programs.
• Represent device-driven demand in production planning and capacity discussions across sites.

Made-in-USA Go-to-Market & Cross-Functional Leadership

• Position Eagle's US-built devices for customers with domestic sourcing, NDAA, TAA, and non-PRC supply chain requirements, including carriers, MSOs, and government-adjacent buyers.
• Support sales with country-of-origin, FTZ, and supply chain security messaging, collateral, and customer engagements for device programs.
• Coordinate with the carrier certifications team so devices meet FCC and carrier requirements on schedule.
• Report program status, risks, and decisions to product and executive leadership, and represent the ODM roadmap in strategic planning through 2028.

Qualifications/Skills/Knowledge:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• 5+ years of product management experience with consumer or enterprise networking hardware, connected devices, or similar electronic products.
• Direct experience working with ODM, JDM, or EMS partners: defining requirements, running RFQs, and managing programs through development and production.
• Experience owning a hardware product's development lifecycle in direct partnership with engineering — from requirements through launch — not just managing external manufacturing partners.
• Working knowledge of wireless device technologies: WiFi (802.11), cellular connectivity, and embedded software platforms such as OpenWRT.
• Demonstrated ability to build device business cases spanning BOM cost, NRE, pricing, volume, and manufacturing capacity.
• Experience working cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, sales, and engineering teams.
• Strong communication skills, equally comfortable on the factory floor, with overseas partners, and in customer or executive settings.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Solon, Ohio or Minneapolis, Minnesota, with regular travel between the two sites and periodic travel to ODM partners and Penang, Malaysia.
• Experience with consumer wireless routers, gateways, or CPE, including carrier and MSO customer requirements.
• Experience transferring manufacturing between sites or regions, especially reshoring programs from Asia-based ODMs to US production.
• Familiarity with domestic sourcing and supply chain compliance frameworks (NDAA, TAA, Buy American, FCC covered list, non-PRC sourcing) and how they shape customer purchasing decisions.
• Familiarity with device certification processes: FCC, PTCRB, and carrier certification for AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile.
• Exposure to SMT assembly, box-build operations, IATF 16949 or other regulated quality environments, and Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations.
• Familiarity with ERP and PLM systems (NetSuite experience a plus) and with structured change management (ECN/ECO) processes.
