JOB DESCRIPTION

Modern Recreational Technologies® is seeking an experienced Product Manager, Marine & Fuel to lead commercial execution across the Marine and Fuel business segments, including the Pettit®, ValvTect® and Woolsey® brands.

Reporting to the Vice President of Commercial Innovation, this role serves as the primary commercial owner for the Marine & Fuel portfolio and translates enterprise strategy into segment-level execution. The Product Manager will lead product management, brand management, pricing, product roadmaps, commercialization, product launches, trade show execution, forecasting support, sales enablement, and the annual marketing calendar.

The successful candidate will work closely with Sales, RD&I, Operations, Finance, Digital Commerce, Content, and other cross-functional partners to ensure products are developed around meaningful customer and market needs, launched with speed and discipline, and supported throughout their lifecycle.

This is a high-impact, self-directed position requiring strong business judgment, product management expertise, commercial acumen, and the ability to establish priorities and accountability across complex cross-functional initiatives.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as the commercial leader and primary owner of execution for the Marine & Fuel segment, aligned with the strategy established by the Vice President of Commercial Innovation.
  • Own product management across the Marine & Fuel portfolio, including lifecycle management, portfolio health, positioning, and identification of opportunities, gaps, and risks.
  • Lead brand management and execution, ensuring consistent positioning, messaging, visual identity, and customer experience across channels.
  • Develop and maintain product pricing strategies with Finance and Sales, including competitive benchmarking, margin considerations, channel dynamics, and annual price planning.
  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps based on customer needs, market intelligence, competitive activity, business priorities, and long-term portfolio strategy.
  • Lead commercialization and go-to-market execution for new and existing products, ensuring cross-functional readiness across RD&I, Operations, Sales, Digital Commerce, and Content.
  • Manage product launches from commercial approval through market introduction, including positioning, pricing, packaging, forecasting, training, collateral, digital readiness, and launch measurement.
  • Develop and maintain competitive intelligence and customer insights to support product, pricing, brand, and portfolio decisions.
  • Support demand forecasting and annual planning with market, product, launch, promotional, and customer insights.
  • Lead SKU rationalization and portfolio optimization to improve focus, operational efficiency, profitability, and customer experience.
  • Own commercial requirements for packaging, labeling, product literature, catalogs, sales collateral, technical support materials, and other customer-facing assets.
  • Develop and manage the annual Marine & Fuel marketing calendar, coordinating launches, campaigns, promotions, customer communications, digital initiatives, and industry events.
  • Own trade show and event management, including objectives, product focus, messaging, booth requirements, staffing coordination, lead strategy, budgets, and post-event follow-up.
  • Work directly with RD&I and laboratory resources to communicate market requirements, prioritize development needs, provide commercial input, and support timely commercialization.
  • Develop and coordinate product and commercial training for Sales, distributors, customers, applicators, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead sales enablement by ensuring Sales has clear positioning, competitive tools, product knowledge, collateral, launch support, and customer-facing resources.
  • Partner with the Digital Commerce Manager to optimize Marine & Fuel products across company websites, marketplaces, and other digital channels.
  • Partner with the Content Manager on product, brand, social, video, photography, PR, email, and campaign content aligned with segment priorities.
  • Monitor performance of launches, brands, pricing initiatives, campaigns, trade shows, and portfolio actions and recommend corrective actions and future priorities.
  • Manage assigned commercial budgets and external resources with an emphasis on measurable return, speed, and efficient use of company resources.
Key Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in product management, brand management, commercial marketing, or a related commercial function.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in coatings, chemicals, marine, fuel additives, industrial products, or a comparable technical market.
  • Demonstrated experience with product portfolio management, pricing, commercialization, and new product launches.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate pricing, margin, forecasts, and commercial performance.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and complex initiatives.
  • Ability to work effectively with RD&I, Sales, Operations, Finance, and technical teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM systems, and business analytics tools.
Candidate Profile
  • Proven leadership experience in product management, commercial marketing, brand management, or a related commercial function, preferably within coatings, chemicals, marine, fuel additives, or industrial products.
  • Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated experience managing product portfolios, pricing, product launches, and go-to-market initiatives.
  • Ability to translate customer, competitive, and market insights into actionable product and commercial strategies.
  • Highly organized, accountable, and comfortable leading cross-functional initiatives.
