Job summary

Stryker is seeking a Product Manager for the Mako Shoulder to lead marketing plans and product positioning, coordinating with engineering, manufacturing and sales to enhance or develop products. You will set pricing strategies, monitor competitors, and translate customer needs into strategic plans and launches.

The role requires strong presentation and analytical skills, with a track record in marketing or medical devices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 4+ years of work experience required.
  • MBA preferred.
  • 2+ years medical device or marketing experience preferred.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while delivering on established timelines.
  • Ability to be persuasive in absence of organizational authority.
  • Must understand and work within complex interdivisional procedures and policies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).

  • Understand competitive dynamics in the market.
  • Articulate product value and customer benefits.
  • Create marketing strategies to strengthen customer-product relationships.
  • Propose objectives for generating clinical evidence and studies.
  • Tie product goals to Stryker's overall objectives.
  • Develop new strategies, sales tools, and communication plans.
  • Apply clinical and technical knowledge to educate about value.
  • Collaborate with sales training to set training strategy.
  • Responsible for the obsolescence plan.
  • Provide analytical support to set price.
  • Communicate outcomes to MarComm.
  • Set short- and long-range improvement goals for the product management team.
  • Analyze customer satisfaction trends and feed into planning.
  • Provide the intelligence group with key objectives and inputs.

Job description

As a Product Manager – Mako Shoulder, you will develop specific marketing plans and activities for specific products or product lines, to establish, enhance or distinguish product placement within the competitive arena. Develop business plans and product positioning in the marketplace. Oversees market research, monitors competitive activity and identifies customer needs. Establishes pricing strategies. Works with engineering, manufacturing and sales to develop new products or enhance existing product(s) or product line(s).

  • Understand key competitors and their relative strengths/weaknesses
  • Understand customer groups, including why customers buy the product or service approach for the product or portfolio
  • Understand the different marketing channel strategies and associated business implications
  • Track and report results/KPIs to leadership and sales
  • Understand key competitors and their relative strengths/weaknesses and maintains networks of people and resources for obtaining competitive information
  • Explain different product features to different customers as appropriate to their needs
  • Maintain customer engagement and deeply understands customer needs
  • Play a role in developing key strategy documents: strategic plan, annual marketing plan, product launch plans, etc
  • Support the creation of Project Charters, CERs, and Business Case Financial Models as applicable
  • Understand competitive dynamics in the market
  • Understand what customers value and how they perceive different attributes of the product or portfolio
  • Articulate why the product or portfolio adds value or solves problems for the customer
  • Create marketing strategies to understand, develop, and enhance the relationship between the customer and the product or portfolio
  • Propose objectives for generating clinical evidence and evaluates studies
  • Tie the business goal of the product or portfolio to the overall goal of Stryker
  • Synthesize market trends and make recommendations on areas of strategic focus
  • Develop new strategies, sales tools, and communication plans for the product or portfolio
  • Apply clinical knowledge in combination with technical knowledge to educate and articulate value
  • Work closely with sales training/sales enablement to set the sales training strategy for the product or portfolio
  • Responsible for the obsolescence plan
  • Provide analytical support to set price
  • Articulate desired communications outcomes consistent with marketing strategy to MarComm team
  • Establish short-range and long-range improvement goals for the product management team, and under guidance, develop action plans to achieve those goals
  • Analyze customer satisfaction to assess trends in customer engagement, and incorporates trends into strategic planning
  • Provide the intelligence group with key objectives and inputs to drive customer insights
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 4+ years of work experience required

  • MBA preferred
  • 2+ years medical device or marketing experience preferred

  • Puerto Rico: $77,700 - $129,500 USD Annual
  • USN: $89,300 - $148,800 USD Annual
  • US5: $93,800 - $156,200 USD Annual
  • US10: $98,200 - $163,700 USD Annual
  • US15: $102,700 - $171,100 USD Annual
  • US20: $107,200 - $178,600 USD Annual
  • US30: $116,100 - $193,400 USD Annual
