Speak is a hands-on product role focused on whether a learner is actually getting better. The PM pulls progress signals—assessments, practice, mistakes—into a single clear view for learners and buyers, applying sound judgment to early‑stage problems and blending user conversations with data to ship features with measurable outcomes.
The role sits at the intersection of AI models, feedback, and trust, collaborating with engineering, analytics and learning teams to measure proficiency and report
This is a hands-on product role focused on one question: is a learner actually getting better? It asks for someone who can pull scattered progress signals, such as assessments, practice and mistakes, into one clear picture for learners and for companies that buy the app. A strong candidate brings sound judgment on unclear, early-stage problems, mixes user conversations with data, and has shipped products with results they can measure.
Much of the learner experience here is driven by AI models that listen, respond and give feedback, so the data about each learner is rich but messy. The PM has to decide which signals are trustworthy enough to act on and how to set quality bars for accuracy and transparency. What stays human is the judgment about what counts as real progress, how to explain it honestly, and how to earn learner and customer trust.
Someone in this role would learn how AI-based speaking practice and feedback turn into measurements of proficiency, and where those measurements can go wrong. Working with engineering, analytics and learning teams on a product that uses models in daily lessons gives close exposure to testing, quality bars and releasing AI features carefully. To build this skill beforehand, try a conversation-practice app and study how it shows progress.
