Job description

As a Senior Product Manager, Hardware, Support, and Supplies, you will lead the strategy, commercial performance, and operational execution of IDEXX's hardware, hardware support, and practice supplies businesses serving veterinary practices across North America. This role is based in Westbrook, Maine, with a hybrid work arrangement. You will oversee a diverse portfolio that includes workstations, servers, printers, networking equipment, tablets, hardware support subscriptions, installation services, and practice supplies used by veterinary clinics throughout the U.S. and Canada. The VetSoft team manages the products, services, and vendor relationships that help veterinary practices successfully deploy and operate IDEXX software solutions.

You'll work across finance, sales, customer support, engineering, procurement, logistics, and vendor organizations to deliver reliable, high-quality technology solutions to veterinary clinics that often lack dedicated IT resources. This role offers significant autonomy, visibility, and business ownership, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow from product management into broader business leadership while remaining closely connected to customers, products, and operational execution.

Why does this role matter?

This is a unique opportunity to operate as the leader of three interconnected businesses within IDEXX: hardware, hardware support, and practice supplies. You'll have broad ownership across product strategy, pricing, vendor management, supply chain operations, marketing, and financial performance, giving you the opportunity to influence the customer experience from end to end. The decisions made in this role directly impact how veterinary practices purchase, deploy, and support the technology that enables them to care for animals every day.

In this role:
  • You will own the P&L performance, pricing strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and financial health of the Hardware, Hardware Support, and Practice Supplies businesses.
  • You will define portfolio strategy, including product selection, vendor relationships, lifecycle management, product transitions, and expansion opportunities.
  • You will partner with Quality Assurance and Engineering teams to guide products through validation and onboarding processes before release to customers.
  • You will manage inventory strategy and collaborate with Procurement and Logistics teams to maintain appropriate stock levels across multiple North American warehouses.
  • You will oversee the business strategy, pricing, customer experience, and operational performance of the Hardware Support subscription business.
  • You will work with Sales leadership to develop pricing programs, promotional initiatives, referral strategies, and commercial offerings that support revenue growth.
  • You will lead commercial marketing efforts, including catalogs, promotional campaigns, sales materials, and customer communications.
  • You will manage relationships with key vendors and OEM partners while negotiating pricing, addressing product quality concerns, and resolving escalations.
  • You will serve as a senior escalation point for significant customer and product issues, partnering with vendors and internal teams to drive resolution.
  • You will analyze business performance data, identify trends, and implement actions that improve revenue, margin, inventory management, and customer satisfaction.
  • You will lead and develop two direct reports while influencing priorities across numerous cross-functional teams that contribute to the success of the business.
  • You will help veterinary practices make confident technology decisions by ensuring the products and services IDEXX provides are reliable, scalable, and well-supported.
  • You will occasionally travel up to 15%, including vendor and warehouse visits.
