Job summary

Chime is seeking a Product Manager to lead design-system capabilities within the AI & App Experience (AAX) team in San Francisco. You’ll shape foundations for consistent member experiences and own strategy at the intersection of product, design, and engineering.

You will partner with Design and Engineering to evolve components, tooling, and infrastructure that enable faster, cohesive app experiences across teams, while translating needs into clear priorities and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a Product Manager.
• Experience owning complex products, platforms, or internal systems from strategy through execution in a technology environment.
• Experience working on design systems, developer platforms, UI frameworks, shared product infrastructure, or similarly horizontal capabilities used by multiple teams.
• A track record of translating ambiguous, cross-functional problems into a clear product strategy, prioritized roadmap, and measurable outcomes.
• Experience partnering with Product Design and Engineering with technical and design fluency to navigate architecture and tradeoffs.
• Experience driving adoption of a shared product or platform across multiple teams, including influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
• Evidence of using data, research, and feedback to prioritize investments and measure value delivered.

Responsibilities

• Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for design-system capabilities within AAX, connecting platform investments to improvements in member experience.
• Partner with Design and Engineering to evolve shared components, patterns, tooling, and infrastructure for cohesive app experiences.
• Identify high-leverage opportunities to improve how product teams discover, adopt, and contribute to Chime’s design system, balancing consistency with flexibility.
• Develop a deep understanding of internal product builders' needs and translate them into priorities and measurable outcomes.
• Drive alignment across multiple product areas, balancing shared platform needs with individual product needs and longer-term quality.
• Establish success measures for the design system using quantitative and qualitative signals: adoption, developer/designer effectiveness, experience consistency, and business impact.
• Help define how emerging AI capabilities can improve how teams design, build, and maintain app experiences.
